Innovation and Technology in New Zealand

New Zealand’s farming technology and methods have made this country the world leader in both efficiency and profitability in agriculture. In part, innovation has been due to the “Kiwi” DIY (Do it yourself) attitude, but predominantly innovation has been driven by our global reputation as a leading agriculture and food producer that, together with the forestry sector, generates 64% of New Zealand’s merchandise export earnings.

The New Zealand pasture-based farming system is based on grazing practices and knowledge utilising a combination of world leading forage genetics combined with years of research and breeding in livestock genetics to achieve high performing farming enterprises in meat, dairy and fibre production.

Despite being further from markets than any other major agricultural producer, New Zealand has successfully built highly competitive and efficient primary production systems exporting to virtually every corner of the globe.

Utilise the NZ Agribusiness Centre's search function to look for products, services and technology from New Zealand’s top Agri-technology providers. NZ Agribusiness Centre is comprised of many Agri-technology companies ranging from Animal Health, Genetics, Fencing Equipment, Machinery to Research and Consultancy.
